“Dr. Curley, her mom, and Lauren provide the most personal care for my son and I. Dr. Curley takes the time to look at you as a whole person and not just aches and pains. I feel better every time I leave her office and my 4 month old son does too. My baby has been seeing Dr. Curley since he was 6 weeks old and the difference before and after an adjustment is wild! Highly recommend Dr. Curley for anyone looking for themselves for chiropractic adjustments or for their little one!”

“I highly recommend Essential Life Chiropractic! Dr. Desiree Curley and the staff are amazing. The office is comfortable, professional, and welcoming, and they’ve truly helped relieve my back pain. Dr. Curley takes the time to explain treatments clearly so you better understand your body and how to maintain your adjustments. I’m very thankful for all of their care and support!”
Your first visit covers your initial consultation, a comprehensive exam, your report of findings, and — when clinically appropriate — your first adjustment. If imaging is needed, we will refer you out and review the results with you. We explain everything before any treatment begins.
What should I bring to my first visit?+
Bring your ID and insurance card (if you're using insurance), and wear comfortable clothing you can move in. Arrive a few minutes early to complete your intake paperwork — or fill it out ahead of time if we send it over.
How long is the first appointment?+
Plan for about 45–60 minutes so we have time for a complete consultation, exam, and — when appropriate — your first treatment the same day.
Does a chiropractic adjustment hurt?+
For most people, no. Adjustments are gentle and many patients feel relief right away. You may hear a soft "pop" as pressure releases from a joint — that's normal and not painful. We tailor every technique to your comfort and explain what we're doing first.
Do I need a referral to see a chiropractor?+
No. New Jersey is a direct-access state, and chiropractors are physicians — so you can request an appointment directly with us without a referral from your doctor.
Is chiropractic care safe?+
Yes. Chiropractic is a widely recognized, conservative, drug-free approach for many musculoskeletal conditions. After your exam we'll flag anything outside our scope and refer you to the right provider when that's the better path.
Do you take insurance?+
We accept many major plans and also offer affordable self-pay options. Send us your insurance details and we'll verify your benefits before your visit — no surprises.
Can I use my HSA or FSA?+
Yes — chiropractic care is typically an eligible HSA/FSA expense. We accept HSA/FSA cards along with all major credit cards and cash.
How many visits will I need?+
It depends on your condition, how long it's been going on, and your goals. After your exam we recommend a specific, time-bound plan to reach your goals — there's no open-ended commitment.
Can children and pregnant patients be seen?+
Yes. We offer gentle care for kids and expecting moms, with techniques always adapted to be safe and comfortable for every stage.
